A little about me….
I am a sales and marketing professional with over 25 years experience; outside of my day job I am a freelance writer and marketing consultant for businesses and individuals. I have been providing writing and marketing services to an array of clients for over 6 years now and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to help people utilize the power of social media and online marketing.
I have always had a passion for writing and have even written some short stories and dabbled with poetry. For years now I have wanted to develop my own blog and write about subjects I was passionate about both personally and professionally but finding the time was not always easy.
This year I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish and made a list of goals for the year. Setting up my own blog and dedicating at least 30 minutes a day to writing was one of my goals.
I am a Canadian girl, born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, home of Alexander Graham Bell and Wayne Gretzky. And yes I can skate and play hockey; my son can too.
Just like many others I’ve had my good times and my bad times but as the saying goes what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. This is probably very true but when you’re going through hard times you sure don’t think that. I do believe I am a stronger person now than I was years ago, I am very independent and when I set out goals for myself I stick to them. Only then can I disappoint myself.
I have had a very successful career and just 5 years ago I made a major career change. I am still in sales and marketing but in a different type of industry, similar but completely different than what I was used to. At the same time as my career change I moved back to my home town by myself while going through a divorce after 20 years of being married. Lets just say my life did a complete 360. I wouldn’t say it was a mid-life crisis but it sure did feel like it. Any big life change takes some getting used to but making 3 major life changes all at once well lets just say it took a while for me to adjust. I am very well adjusted now and am such a happier person than I used to be.
Over the past few years I have found a renewed lust for life and have become passionate about so many things. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start my own blog so that I could share my life experiences and my passions while fulfilling my joy of writing. I am making the time to do all the things I have wanted to do.
There are 365 days in a year, 8760 hours; that’s a lot of time so I plan on spending that time wisely and making the most of it.
