I know I’m not alone when it comes to the feeling of a brand new year like it’s a new start, that’s why so many people make new year’s resolutions. It’s a chance to restart the clock, to redefine goals and make new wish lists for things you’d like to accomplish for the upcoming year.
Today is a holiday which means I have a chance to sit and reflect on what I want to accomplish this year, what goals I want to set for myself and how I want to spend my time. Time is one factor that must be addressed as it just seems that there is never enough of it. As I mentioned in my very first blog post its as if time speeds up as we get older or we think it does because we are more conscious of time not spent on the things we have longed to do. Either way making the most of your time I believe will make you happier, at least for me I’m expecting it will. I have a long list of things I want to do and have not done, so I’m determined to slow this clock down in order to do them. Maybe not all of them but a good portion of them that’s for sure!
The first thing was to set up my very own blog…and I did that.
The second thing was to dedicate at least 30 minutes of my day writing for my blog. This will be an on going process and a major goal for the year! I must say though, this is only my second blog post but I am already super ecstatic about this!
You just need to take that first step towards a new journey and you are already on your way!!
Now it’s not that I am new to writing but I am new to writing for myself and for the pure enjoyment of it. I have been in sales and marketing for over 25 years and for the past 6 years during my off hours I have been a freelance writer and marketing consultant. I love working with clients and enjoy the opportunity of being able to help them with their online marketing as a behind the scenes writer. I think we are sometimes referred to as “ghostwriters” which I always found a little funny. I will continue to provide freelance writing services to clients but will also make time to do some writing for myself too!
This year is about “out with the old” as in, out with my old ways and “in with the new year” as in, in with the new year and new ways, new goals, and a new direction towards achieving everything I want to do and making the time to do them!
So now I’m off to work on my list of things I want to accomplish this year and set some personal goals.
